pcukt.com There are about 80 million Korean speakers in the whole world. Although it is the official language of both North Korea and South Korea, Korean is also spoken in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China. There are also large Korean-speaking groups in various Diaspora populations such as in Post-Soviet states, Brazil, Australia, the United States, Canada, Japan, and the Philippines.
Like the Japanese language, the Korean language was hugely influenced by the Chinese language. This is much evident in the form of Sino-Korean words. If we are going to analyze its vocabulary, the Korean language is composed of 35% Native Korean words and 60% Sino-Korean words. The remaining 5% comes from words loaned from other languages, mostly English.
